This is our Regulatory Landscape newsletter for April 2023 with our monthly insights on the evolving market for regulatory professionals.
For the month of March there were about 100 new Regulatory positions posted at smaller biotech and pharma companies. This is up 14% from February but down about 10% from March 2022. About 60% of these positions were in Clinical Regulatory Strategy and roughly 25% were in CMC Regulatory, 9% were in Advertising, Promotions & Labeling, and 9% in Regulatory Operations.
The majority of these roles (67%) were at Director level and above. There were 16 new Regulatory VP/SVP positions posted in March.
45% of all new Regulatory postings were in California this month, with 24% in Massachusetts and 10% in New Jersey. About 27% of all new roles in March were posted as Remote and about 9% were hybrid (remote/onsite).
There were layoffs announced at 17 biotech and pharma companies in March. BioPharma Dive estimates more than 5,000 employees have been let go from biotech and pharma companies so far this year.
