The slowdown in Regulatory hiring continues. In June there were only 46 new Regulatory positions posted at smaller and mid-sized biopharma companies in the US. This is down 19% from May and down 42% from last June.
67% of these new positions were in Clinical Regulatory Strategy and 15% were in CMC Regulatory, 11% were in Advertising, Promotions & Labeling, and 7% in Regulatory Operations. Roughly 56% of these roles were at Director level and above.
There were no new Regulatory VP/SVP positions posted in June. This is the first time we have seen zero new VP/SVP positions since we started tracking them five years ago. Although there were no new VP/SVP postings last month, there are still a large number of senior Regulatory positions which are still open. We suspect this is because companies are moving more slowly to make decisions, and candidates are more cautious about making changes in the current environment. Despite this, Dennis Partners has filled five VP/SVP roles for our clients in the past year.
48% of the new Regulatory positions in June were listed as Onsite, 28% were posted as Remote and 24% were Hybrid (remote/onsite). 37% of the June Regulatory positions were in California, 28% were in Massachusetts, and 22% were in the NJ/NY/PA area.
There were layoffs announced at 15 biopharma companies in June.
