This is our Regulatory Landscape newsletter for June 2022 with our monthly insights on the evolving market for regulatory professionals.
For the month of May, there were over 125 new Regulatory roles posted as smaller and mid-sized biotech and pharma companies. This is a noticeable increase in new postings compared to the past few months. This includes 16 new Regulatory Vice President roles listed in May, which is the biggest number of new VP roles we have seen in a couple of years.
As usual the majority of these new roles were Clinical Regulatory/Generalist positions, but we did see an increase in Regulatory Advertising & Promotion openings, Labeling roles, and also more Regulatory Operations positions this month. 40% of all new roles posted were remote or hybrid.
We saw a decrease in the number of Regulatory roles filled in May, and positions are staying open longer than usual this year. We suspect this is due to the sheer volume of open Regulatory roles across the country (over 500), and a limited pool of qualified candidates. There were layoffs at five biotech companies in May.
