This is our Regulatory Landscape newsletter for March 2023 with our monthly insights on the evolving market for regulatory professionals.
For the month of February there were 90 new Regulatory positions posted at smaller biotech and pharma companies. This is down about 10% from January and down 5% from February 2022. About half of these positions were in Clinical Regulatory Strategy and roughly 30% were in CMC Regulatory, 14% were in Advertising, Promotions & Labeling, and 3% in Regulatory Operations.
The majority of these roles were at Director level and above. There were only three new Regulatory VP/SVP positions posted in February. This is the lowest number of VP/SVP openings since we began tracking them in 2020. However, there are still about 35 VP/SVP RA roles still open across the country.
37% of all new Regulatory postings were in Massachusetts this month, with 27% in California and 14% in New Jersey. About one-third of all new roles were posted as Remote and about 16% were hybrid (remote/onsite).
There were layoffs announced at 15 biotech and pharma companies in February.
