Regulatory Landscape Newsletter – May 2022

This is our Regulatory Landscape newsletter for May 2022 with our monthly insights on the evolving market for regulatory professionals.

For the month of April, there were 94 new Regulatory job postings at small and mid sized biopharma companies.  This is down slightly from March, but we usually see a small decline in April each year. There were 13 new VP-level Regulatory roles this month, with over 40 VP/SVP-level Regulatory roles still open across the country. There was an increase in new Regulatory CMC and Regulatory Advertising, Promotions and Labeling roles posted in April and a slight dip in Clinical Regulatory/Generalist positions. 43% of new Regulatory roles posted in April were remote or hybrid.

Although hiring still remains strong across the industry, we saw layoffs announced at 17 biopharma companies during the month of April.  This brings the total number of biotech layoffs up to 48 companies so far this year.

In order to better understand how Regulatory professionals are feeling about the current job market in 2022, we surveyed over 400 biotech, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic Regulatory professionals during the week of April 18-25.  You can see those survey results here:  https://dennispartners.com/regulatory-news/the-great-resignation-continues-regulatory-career-motivations-in-2022/
