Regulatory Landscape Newsletter – September 2022

This is our Regulatory Landscape newsletter for September 2022 with our monthly insights on the evolving market for regulatory professionals.

For the month of August, there were roughly 80 new Regulatory jobs posted across the country at small and midsized bio/pharma companies. This is up a bit from July, but definitely lower than the volume we saw for  last August. It’s too soon to say if this is a trend, but it appears that Regulatory hiring might be slowing down a bit.

The majority of these new roles were Clinical Regulatory/Generalist positions (64%), with about 14% in CMC Regulatory. Nine percent of the positions were in Regulatory Operations and Regulatory Advertising, Promotions and/or Labeling positions rose to 13% of the postings in August.

There were 18 new Regulatory Vice President or SVP roles posted in August, comprising 25% of all Regulatory roles for the month.  39% of all roles posted were Remote positions and another 11% were listed as Hybrid home/onsite roles.

There were layoffs at 13 biotech companies in the month of August.

Dennis Partners has placed nine VPs/Heads of Regulatory at smaller pharma/biotech companies in the last 1.5 years. This includes six VPs, one SVP, and one Chief Regulatory Officer.  Let us know if you need assistance with your regulatory hiring needs, or if you are open to exploring new regulatory career opportunities.
