Happy new year and I hope you all enjoyed the holidays. This is our Regulatory Landscape newsletter for January 2024 with our monthly insights on the evolving market for Regulatory professionals.
For the month of December there were approximately 45 new Regulatory positions posted at smaller biotech and pharma companies in the US. This is down 36% from last month down 12% from December 2022.
About 63% of these new positions in December were in Clinical Regulatory Strategy and 23% were in CMC Regulatory, 9% were in Advertising, Promotions & Labeling, and 5% in Regulatory Operations. More than 50% of these roles were at Director level and above. There were only three new Regulatory VP/SVP positions posted in December.
Only 16% of all new Regulatory roles in December were posted as Remote and 13% were Hybrid (remote/onsite). 41% of the December Regulatory positions were in California with another 30% in Massachusetts. (Again, these are smaller and mid-sized biopharma companies and we don’t track Big Pharma postings.)
There were layoffs announced at 12 biotech and pharma companies in December.
