Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for a Privately Held Biotech Startup

Client background

This small, early-stage biotechnology startup is developing biologic therapeutics for the treatment of severe autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.  With two programs in Phase 1 in the US and plans to launch clinical trials abroad, the company needed to find a new Vice President of Regulatory Affairs who could help to advance their pipeline.

Challenge

The CMO was not happy with their incumbent VP of Regulatory, and he urgently wanted to find a replacement who could work with the FDA and lead an upcoming IND. Dennis Partners knew that there was a very high demand for VP-level Regulatory leaders, with over 40 open RA VP roles open across the country. We explained that the market was very competitive and that a VP search could take several months.

Approach

Due to the client’s high level of urgency, Dennis Partners recommended that the client use a VP-level Regulatory Consultant who could step in right away to do the work until a permanent replacement could be hired.  We quickly initiated the search and found them a great Regulatory Consultant who could start immediately.

Result

The consultant began working for our client exactly two weeks from our initial discussion with the CMO.  She exceeded all of their expectation in the role, and after a couple of months they decided to offer her the permanent Regulatory Affairs Vice President position.   She accepted the offer and the client has been thrilled.
