This is our Regulatory Landscape newsletter for June 2023 with our monthly insights on the evolving market for regulatory professionals.
For the month of May there were about 100 new Regulatory positions posted at smaller biotech and pharma companies in the US. This is up from last month but down about 20% from May 2022. About 55% of these positions were in Clinical Regulatory Strategy and 21% were in CMC Regulatory, 11% were in Advertising, Promotions & Labeling, and 12% in Regulatory Operations.
The majority of these roles were at Director level and above. There were only nine new Regulatory VP/SVP positions posted in May.
22% of all new Regulatory postings were in California this month, with 41% in Massachusetts and 17% in the NY/NJ/PA area. About 29% of all new roles in May were posted as Remote and about 11% were Hybrid (remote/onsite). There were layoffs announced at 17 biotech and pharma companies in May.
